Jorgen the Bear is out in the world

A careful final week has brought Jorgen's companion prequel to readers, with a clearer route into the book and the wider world of Power of Heroes.

This has been the week Jorgen the Bear stepped out of my working files and into readers' hands. The companion prequel is now available, opening a colder corner of Sramad and following a younger Jorgen through the forests and mountain roads of Norvisca. It's a story about family, courage and the unsettling moment when the strength inside you begins to look like something else.

Before release, I spent time on the sort of final work that readers should never have to notice. I tightened repeated passages, clarified a few physical moments and made sure the conversations carried the right warmth, fear and tension. The complete book was then read and checked again, including the ebook itself, so that the story could keep its rough winter character without the small distractions that pull a reader out of the moment.

I've also made Jorgen much easier to find on the website. His page now leads directly to the book on Amazon, while readers who would rather begin another way can join my newsletter and receive the complete ebook free after confirming their email. The site still points towards The Power of Family, which is available to pre-order, so Jorgen's earlier adventure now has a clear place beside the beginning of the main series.

Seeing the finished cover and the book page together has made this feel wonderfully real. Jorgen has been part of Power of Heroes for a long time, but this companion story gives him room to stand at the centre of his own winter journey. If you've been curious about him, I hope you'll enjoy meeting the younger man behind the legend.
